About the Foundation

We support the use of new technologies in medicine!

New technologies offer many opportunities to improve patient care. When skilfully used they may be a great tool to facilitate the work of doctors and increase patient safety. Through the close cooperation of new technologies experts and clinicians we are creating the medicine of the future.

The Medigent Foundation combines all these elements and meets the needs of doctors, patients, medical centers and pharmaceutical concerns, listening to their needs and creating new solutions.

Objectives of the foundation

The Medigent Foundation introduces new technologies into medicine. Mobile applications that support doctors' decisions are of particular importance to us.
Promoting science from a bottom-up initiative - "CITIZEN SCIENCE".
Supporting the Open Science movement - "Open Science".
Reducing the cost of medical care along with the increase of its quality and safety.
Facilitating the work of doctors - better care for patients.

Surgeon, head of the Department of General and Endocrine Surgery and Gastroenterological Oncology at the Clinical Hospital H. Święcicki in Poznań.

Professor dr hab. Tomasz Banasiewicz is a co-author of many national and international research projects. He belongs to the Team of Experts at the National Consultant in the field of surgery with the focus on intestinal anastomotic leakage. He is a recognized authority on wound healing (especially chronic wounds, difficult to treat) and wound prophylaxis. Prof. Tomasz Banasiewicz has been the head of 5 national and international research projects, he realized 12 research projects as a main contractor, he was also a monitor of clinical trials of 2 major international surveys conducted by large medical corporations (USA, UK). He deals mainly with gastrointestinal surgery and endocrine surgery. Author of over 120 scientific publications. Valued by individual approach to patients (the winner of the “Aesculapian – Specialist of the Year Wielkopolska 2015” plebiscite). Organizer and participant in medical charity missions (opening and running a hospital in Rafai, Central African Republic, cooperation with the Bugando University in Tanzania). Supporter of wound vacuum therapy and organizer of the International Congress of Vacuum Therapy. Editor-in-Chief of the Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Journal.

Krzysztof Łuczak
Co-Founder

Master of Science at the University of Economics in Poznan. Participant in the International Business and Management Program at the Fachhochschule Osnabrück, Germany. Co-founder of the company Qpony.pl sp. z o.o., implementing innovative solutions in mobile applications. In June 2014 he qualified with Qpony.pl for READY TO GO acceleration program in the Silicon Valley in California. Currently a PhD student at the University of Economics in Poznań. For 5 years associated with the creation of mobile applications. Has the necessary experience and qualifications to run projects in the area of internet technologies and mobile applications. Author of articles and publications on mobile applications and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Wojciech Francuzik
Chief Science Officer

Resident of the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology of the University Hospital Chaité in Berlin.

Author of scientific publications, propagator of the Open Science movement and Reproducible research. Member of the Foundation for Open Access Statistics. Ambassador of the Center for Open Science. R programmer, interested in statistics. His areas of interest are the use of microfluidics and Lab-on-a-chip systems and decision support systems in medical practice.
